This ball gown, worn by Ann Eliza Ten
Eyck (1804-1866) was made in Albany, New York of figured silk with satin trim
sometime around 1820-1821. The cloth was woven in graduations of saffron color,
creating subtle stripes and a leaf motif. It was worn with above-the-elbow
length white kid gloves and kid or satin shoes.
